HARTFORD, Conn. — The East Hartford Logistics & Technology Park, completed by ARCO National Construction’s New England division for National Development, has been awarded the 2025 CoStar Impact Award for Hartford Commercial Development of the Year. This recognition highlights the project’s innovation, economic impact, and strategic location, offering direct access to major metropolitan markets, including New York and Boston.
In collaboration with National Development, ARCO delivered the first phase of the 300-acre industrial park which included two build-to-suit, Class A distribution facilities totaling over 2.5 million square feet for prominent retail end-users. The CoStar Group announced the achievement in March, following evaluation by a panel of experienced industry professionals.
Situated on the Rentschler Field site, a former WWII airfield, the development has transformed the landmark location into a thriving economic hub, positioning Hartford as a key player in the logistics and distribution sector. In addition to construction jobs, the development is expected to generate permanent jobs, strengthening the regional economy.
“ARCO is proud to have delivered this transformative project on an aggressive 14-month timeline,” said Jason Grant, President of ARCO National Construction’s New England division. “Our design-build approach ensured seamless project execution, allowing us to complete both state-of-the-art facilities efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality. We are grateful for National Development’s partnership in completing this award-winning project.”
“The 2025 CoStar Impact Award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the development and construction teams who transformed this underutilized site into one of the largest logistics centers between New York and Boston,” said Charlie Rollins, Chief Operating Officer, National Development. “We are proud of the positive impact this development has already had, and we remain focused on delivering projects that not only create long-term value for our tenants but also contribute to the growth and revitalization of the communities we serve.”
Both facilities were designed with sustainability in mind, featuring infrastructure for future solar panel installations, energy-efficient lighting, and EV charging stations. Each facility also features 40’ clear height, approximately 150 dock positions, office space, and ample trailer and auto parking.
